Monday was all farewells and travel.

I bought two more books (while enviously eyeing the stack that Julie had), and got them signed by Ellen Klages and Geoff Ryman. Said some goodbyes, but didn't even attempt to bid farewell to everyone. It was lovely meeting them all, and I hope to go again next year.

Here it is Saturday already.

I started the day late, ambling down to the Con past a lively street fair crowded with families and vendors. I thought of stopping, but was more drawn to Wiscon. The main event today at Wiscon was The Gathering, an indoor fair with a clothing swap, face-painting, tarot, palm-reading, some impressive-despite-the-noise shape-note singing, and a bookstore offering ARCs of books for a $1 donation (with a ten-book limit). The kick-off event was a reading and reception at A Room of One's Own, the bookstore. It looked quite tiny from outside, but turned out to be spacious and full of books and people. I found my Clarion classmate Julie, who'd gotten there earlier. Then we found Karen Joy Fowler, and got caught up.
